Damaged feet sketches

I sketched some drawings from references of foot damage cause by point shoes (I uploaded photos of pointe shoe damage in a previous post). I did these drawings mostly as research for how I will draw my dancer's feet when they are all bruised and battered.

I also looked into how ballerinas protect their feet, they use things like cotton wool to stuff into their shoe so that they have extra padding in their shoes and alternatively they also use gel and fabric inserts in their shoes. There are also toe spacers which are put between the toes to avoid the ballerina from getting bunions.

I also found a useful video from a ballet physiotherapist who gives a tutorial on how to strap your feet if you have bunions.
